Dear social workers and friends,
It is really my honor and pleasure to address all the respected Social Workers of Nepal as a President of Social Workers’ Association Nepal (SWAN). SWAN is established in 2013 with the joint efforts of numbers of Social Workers lead by Founder President Dr. Dilli Ram Adhikari to further contribute the Social Workers, Social development and quality Social Work education initiative of Nepal. Every year numbers of Social Work graduate from Universities are growing in the country and engaged in different Social sectors with their capacities but yet to come in the Association for collaboration. It is a platform for all the Social Workers for their personal as well as professional growth and development. We have many Social issues in our country which is causing Social stress for individuals and groups. In many senses, there is a growing Social crisis, made worse by the consequences of natural calamities like earthquakes, floods, landslides and the Corona virus pandemic. The Government is looking for solutions but lack of proper management and mobilization of Human Resources the problem is growing day by day. So, it is the time now we need to unite and collaborate in the Association so that, we can play our role and contribute the required Human Resources. We are the professional who needs to stand in the frontline in every Social crisis for well being of the people in needs. As yet we could not come together for unity in the Association we are struggling for our own rights, identity recognition and lacking the collaboration with not only the main stream but like minded national and international Association where we could play a major role to establish justice, dignity and peace in the country. So, It is never late than not joining now to empower ourselves and the Association. May I appeal every Social Worker to your solidarity and collaboration for the growth and development of Social Workers as well as the Association and the Social Work education in Nepal. At this moment, I acknowledge all the Social Workers, Students, Social Work educators, institutions imparting Social Work education and the professionals who are serving in different social sectors with their capacities for the well being of the people in needs. Thank you !
Having read this I thought it was extremely enlightening. I appreciate you taking the time and effort to put this content together. I once again find myself personally spending a lot of time both reading and commenting. But so what, it was still worthwhile! Stacey Dalis Clausen
