Social work education is an emerging academic discipline in Nepal which needs collaborative efforts of social workers and academic institutions committed to strengthen it. Social work profession promotes social change, problem solving in human relationships and the empowerment and liberation of people to enhance well-being. Social work methods, techniques, and theories focus on human behavior and social systems, social work intervenes at the points where people interact with their environments. Principles of human rights and social justice are fundamental to social work. SWAN is a platform of professional social workers who can share their experiences related to social work practices, teaching, and advocate for social policy, human rights to improve governance of social service organizations, government and professional growth of social workers. The members can raise voice of voiceless people for their welfare, wellbeing and justice. SWAN members committed to maintaining high standards, ethical practice and ongoing professional development. SWAN aims to design various products and services to help members to learn, grow and evolve throughout the social work career by improving and broadening their skills, knowledge and expertise and develop the qualities required for professional practice.
